The cheapest erectile dysfunction (ED) pills are generic Viagra, called.
The term "generic" refers to the active ingredient of a medicine or drug rather than to the advertised brand name under which the medicine is sold. It is a term referring to any drug marketed under its chemical name without advertising.
Pfizer made the originaltablet that is often referred to as the “blue pill”.The patent expired in 2013 which then allowed other pharmaceutical manufactures to make a generic version under the name of the active ingredient called Sildenafil. They are exactly the same medically and perform in the same way with the same side-effects.
As with most branded products, Viagra is sold at a higher price, therefore the generic tablets sold asare much cheaper.
Medically there is no difference between a generic medicine and the branded medicine, as they both have the same active ingredients to make them perform in the same way. They only differ in the “bulking” agents used to fill the tablet as the amount of active ingredient required, in this case Sildenafil, is very small. This makes the tablets bigger and easier to handle.
The main difference between generic andbranded named prescription medicines is cost with generics being much cheaper
Every pharmacy can choose what price they sell at, as there are no fixed prices. It will depend on what price the pharmacy can buy the drug from the wholesaler and the cost of their own overheads. They can they decide what mark-up they require and some pharmacies choose to sell some products at higher prices.

All pharmacies using a UK General Medical Council, to prescribe their medicines will also be registered with the UK government Agency the Care Quality Commission (CQC).
Those online pharmacies who are not registered with the CQC either use pharmacist prescribers or foreign doctors.
You will then know and have the confidence that all the brands being offered are genuine and will work in the same way. All the pharmaceutical companies are inspected by the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) to ensure they manufacturer the drugs to the same quality standard. This means that the key ingredient that is referred to as the “active” ingredient is exactly the same in all brands.
The other inactive ingredients that make up the bulk of the tablet are called “excipients” and can vary.
For those people who are allergic to or have an intolerance to lactose, then the is ideal for you as it is lactose free. You can check the additional excipients on the patient information leaflet supplied with your tablets.
Although medically all the generic tablets are identical, they may look different as they can vary in colour, shape and size due to the varying excipients.
The patent for, owned by Pfizer, expired in July 2013, which then allowed other pharmaceutical companies to produce generic. There are a number of companies now manufacturing which include Accord, Ajanta, Dr Reddy’s, Mylan, Teva, Torrent and Zentiva. Even Pfizer make a that they sell cheaper than Viagra although generally more expensive than the equivalent generic brands.

A recent survey shows that men are taking an average of 7.2% of Viagra prescriptions.
That's about 4.2% of Viagra prescriptions.
It's true that nearly one-third of all Viagra prescriptions are prescribed to men who have sex, according to the research paper published by the University of Manchester.
However, the number of Viagra prescriptions in the UK is even greater than any other country.
The survey of 1,531 UK men and women, which was conducted between June 2018 and October 2019, found that nearly 60% of all prescriptions were written for sex and/or performance enhancement drugs.
The study, from the British Medical Journal, examined Viagra prescriptions written for the treatment of erectile dysfunction in men.
It found that the number of prescriptions written for sex and/or performance enhancement drugs in England is the highest in the UK.
"The majority of the Viagra prescriptions are written for performance enhancement drugs," said the study's lead author, Professor Andrew McCullough.
However, he said the results were "in line with other studies."
"These findings are supported by the fact that many of the other drugs we have studied have been ineffective, and do not produce the desired effect of the drugs," Professor McCullough said.
The authors of the study were supported by an Australian Research Council grant and a National Science Foundation grant to study Viagra in men.
Viagra was the second most commonly prescribed erectile dysfunction drug in the UK.
The UK prescription-taking rate for Viagra is now 11.3% from the year-earlier period. The number of Viagra prescriptions written in England is increasing.
According to the University of Manchester, men who take Viagra regularly had a 1.9% higher number of prescriptions written for male erectile dysfunction drugs compared with those who did not.
Men taking Viagra were also more likely to be prescribed the drug, as was the proportion of men who took it to have an erection when they were sexually stimulated.
Professor McCullough said the results indicated that men are likely to take an average of 7.2% of all Viagra prescriptions.
"This number is higher than that reported in other studies, including the UK, where the number of prescriptions written for the treatment of erectile dysfunction in men is increasing," he said.
"Other studies have also reported similar figures."
The survey found that Viagra prescriptions were written for men in the UK with moderate to severe heart disease, liver or kidney disease, erectile dysfunction, a mental health disorder and erectile dysfunction with other conditions.
The researchers said the UK prescription-taking rate is probably higher than the other developed countries.
"This study also indicates that the majority of prescriptions written for male erectile dysfunction drugs are for performance enhancement drugs," Professor McCullough said.
However, he added that the study only examined prescriptions for the treatment of erectile dysfunction.
"There are other drugs that have not been shown to work well for erectile dysfunction."
Professor McCullough said that in the UK the "use of Viagra and other treatments is illegal and carries significant health risks".
He said that men who have been taking Viagra for a long time might be at a higher risk of experiencing side effects such as headaches, stomach upset, dizziness and nausea.
"If this were to occur, there would be a greater likelihood that the side effects would be reversed."
Professor McCullough said that while the study "does not directly answer the question of whether Viagra is safe for most men," it was the first time he had tried Viagra to address erectile dysfunction.
"Viagra has been shown to be effective in treating erectile dysfunction and may be a potential treatment for men who have not responded to other treatments."
In the UK, Viagra prescriptions are restricted to men 18 to 64 years of age.
However, the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) has ruled out using Viagra for the treatment of erectile dysfunction.
"This study shows that men who use Viagra for erectile dysfunction might be at a higher risk of experiencing side effects," NICE said.
Professor McCullough said that the study showed that men were being advised to take an average of 7.2% of all Viagra prescriptions.
The study also showed that the "use of Viagra is illegal and carries significant health risks".
